The Indian Army is the largest branch of the Armed Forces of India and has the primary responsibility of conducting land-based military operations. The Indian Army maintains the second largest active force in the world.

The Indian Army is a military service, with a troop strength of over one million. It is a completely voluntary service, the military draft by no means having been imposed in India. The army has rich combat experience in diverse terrains, considering India's diversity on this front, and also has a different history of serving in United Nations peacekeeping operations.

The force is headed by the Chief of Army Staff . The highest rank in the Indian Army is Field Marshal.

To become a Soldier in the expert RE TA you will require a related civilian qualification. If you are a civilian engineer, technician or tradesman who has qualifications in mechanical, electrical or civil engineering, or more specialist qualifications within the oil and fuels industry there are abundance of opportunities to use your civilian expertise in the expert RE TA.
If you have a degree or equivalent in a subdivision of engineering you could be measured for Officer Training.

Your civilians skills will be assessed in arrange to resolve your suitability for the variety of roles within the Specialist Teams. Yet if you do not have applicable fuels and oil industry experience or qualifications you may be proper for a post in one of the other specialist teams covering water, ports, railway, power and works.
 
 
Required Qualifications:
 
 
Assessment for suitability focuses on the following civilian qualifications: City & Guilds, NVQs, SNVQs, BTECs, HND and Engineering Degrees.

If you do not have an engineering background you may be able to fill one of the necessary supporting trades positions. Do you have qualifications or experience in, for example, finance, clerical, administration with IT skills, driving or catering?
